You will arrive at Tel Aviv airport and will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Jerusalem.
We start our Land of the Bible Tour with a panoramic view of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives. From there we continue to the Church of All Nations and the Garden of Gethsemane. We go on to Israel Museum’s Shrine of the Book with the famous Dead Sea Scrolls. Here we also see the outstanding Model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem, dating back to the time of the Second Temple. Afterwards, we spend some time at Yad Vashem, the memorial to millions of Jews who died in the Holocaust. In the afternoon we visit the picturesque village of Ein Kerem, the traditional birth place of John the Baptist. Overnight in Jerusalem.
We enter the walled Old City of Jerusalem to visit the Western Wall, the Jewish Quarter, the Temple area and the colourful Shuk. We take a walk along the Via Dolorosa and the Stations of the Cross, en route to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. We continue to Mount Zion where we visit the tomb of King David, the Room of the Last Supper and Dormition Abbey. In the afternoon we drive to Bethlehem* where we visit the Church of the Nativity and enjoy the view of the Shepherd’s Fields. Overnight in Jerusalem.
After breakfast we leave Jerusalem and drive north, passing by Jericho, the world’s oldest city. We travel to Bet Shean through the Jordan Valley, visiting the excavations of this wonderfully preserved Roman city. We go on to Nazareth to visit the Church of the Annunciation and the workshop of Joseph. From there we proceed to Safed, the highest city in the Galilee area, for a walk through the mystic alleys, a visit to a synagogue and the artists’ colony. Overnight in a Kibbutz hotel.
The day begins with a drive to the Golan Heights, passing by the Druze villages. We visit a former Syrian fortification on the Heights. We enjoy an Israeli vineyard tour, with wine tasting and learning about the wine production process. We pass by Banias en route to the Mount of Beatitudes. Then we make our way to Capernaum to visit the ruins of the ancient synagogue and Peter’s house. We visit Tabgha, where the miracle of the multiplication of the fish and bread took place. After this, we go to Tiberias for a short tour of the old centre of Jewish learning. There will be the option to sail in a boat across the famous Sea of Galilee where Jesus calmed the storm – please note this is subject to local conditions and an additional fee will apply. Overnight in Kibbutz hotel.
After breakfast we drive west to Acre, home of the famous Crusader stronghold and medieval fortifications. We then make our way to Haifa, for a tour of the city, including the Baha’i Shrine and Persian Garden. From here we enjoy a panoramic view of Mount Carmel and Haifa Bay. Then we proceed down the coast to Caesarea to visit the ancient port, including the Roman Amphitheatre and the Hippodrome. We then continue to Tel Aviv-Jaffa for a short city tour and to your hotel. Overnight in Tel Aviv.
We end our Land of the Bible Tour enjoying a day of leisure with free time in Tel Aviv, or an optional tour to the Dead Sea** (additional charge applies). Overnight in Tel Aviv.
After breakfast, we transfer to the airport for departure.
