Historical Tour of the Holy Land

Day 1
Upon arrival in Tel Aviv you will be met by our representative. We will transfer you to your hotel where you can relax after your journey. Overnight in Tel Aviv.

Day 2
We begin this historical tour of the Holy Land by walking the alleys of the old, fortified town of Jaffa, known as Joppa in the Bible. We see the fascinating ruins of Caesarea, the coastal town constructed by Herod the Great to honour Caesar Augustus, continue on to Megiddo (the Biblical Armageddon) and then make our way toward the Sea of Galilee. Overnight in Tiberias.

Day 3
We start the day with a visit to Capernaum and then go to Tabgha, to see where Jesus fed the 5000 and the Church of Multiplication. Then we continue to the Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount. Later we enjoy the view of the Hula Valley from the Golan Heights. Overnight in Tiberias.

Day 4
After visiting the Wedding Church in Cana, to see the place Jesus performed His first miracle (turning water into wine), we go on to Nazareth to see the Church of Annunciation plus Joseph’s Church and Mary’s well. After this we drive through the Jordan Valley to Bet Shean, a beautifully preserved Roman city. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 5
We drive to Masada and ascend by cable car to the fortress, the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their battle against the Romans. We take time to see the excavations, King Herod’s palace, synagogue, and bathhouse. From the summit, we experience magnificent views of the Roman camps and the Dead Sea. Possible float in the Dead Sea**, weather and time permitting. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 6
After visiting Mount Scopus for panoramic views of Jerusalem, we go on to the Mount of Olives, and the Garden of Gethsemane. This is followed by a visit to the Western Wall and Temple Mount, the site of the Second Temple. Experience the 14 Stations of the Cross, the Via Dolorosa to Calvary and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Continue to Mount Zion to the tomb of King David and the Room of the Last Supper. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 7
This morning we visit Yad Vashem, the sobering memorial to the Jews killed in the Holocaust. We continue to Ein Kerem which is the traditional birthplace of John the Baptist, the Israel Museum, and Knesset (House of Parliament). Later we enjoy a possible visit to Bethlehem* to visit the Church of Nativity and Rachael’s Tomb. We end our historical tour of the Holy Land with an overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 8
Transfer to Tel Aviv airport for return flight to the UK.

* Bethlehem is under Palestinian Authority jurisdiction. Visit subject to local conditions.

** Visit subject to weather conditions.

This tour includes transfers on arrival and departure.

It is possible that on occasion your group may be joined by members of other tours, therefore please be aware that the group size may change at any time.

This tour requires a minimum of 2 passengers to operate.

Prices will vary depending on dates, flights, and room types chosen. Please note that certain dates will not be available due to Jewish festivals.
